College Testing

* PSAT (Preliminary SAT) – Usually taken in October of student's junior year (not required for college, but good practice and chance to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship).

* SAT/ACT – Recommended students take these college entrance exams by the end of their junior year. However, there is no set time and the tests may be taken more than once. So students can test (or retest) their senior year also. If a student is undecided about what college they plan to attend, it's typically recommend they take both. If you know the college of choice, check with that college to see which test is preferred.

See the College Board website for complete information on the many dates the tests are given, deadlines, searches for various colleges and scholarships, and more.
